Lesson 8.05

(Covering the sections titled:  The wedding ceremony; friends of the bridegroom and other attendants  and  “The marriage feast,”  page 158 and 159.)

ACTIVITY:

The Bible uses the picture of wedding and marriage, comparing that to our relationship with God.  Jesus told a lot of stories about weddings.  In the New Testament,  we, the Church, are called the bride, and Jesus Christ is called the groom.  The Church not yet “married” to Jesus, but we are “engaged.”  We wait for Jesus to come and take us to his home.  Read Matthew 25:1-13.  See how Jesus uses the wedding customs of Bible times to describe the way we should be waiting for Him to come.  We must always be ready.
